Kalamay

Kalamay

Kalamay is a sticky sweet delicacy that is popular in many regions of the Philippines. It is made of glutinous rice, grated coconut, brown sugar, margarine, peanut butter, and vanilla (optional). Regional varieties exist, the variations come from the texture and the sweetness preferred.

Types of Kalamay

There are many variations and types of kalamay. The recipe differs from region to region, and by province. Varieties include Kalamay Aririguzo, Kalamay de Franca, Bohol Kalamay, and the delicious Kalamay of Southern Luzon.
