Lynwood High School was originally built on Bullis Road from 1940-1998 (currently used as a middle school, Lynwood Middle School.) In 1998, Lynwood High School was relocated on Imperial Highway, formerly the site of Lynwood Aventist Academy. In 2002, the "Lady Knights" won the National
C.I.F Championship with a record of 33-0 in girls basketball and finished ranked No. 1 in the country. The school music program has won countless numbers of awards there Jazz band that took 2nd place in a competition atthe Monterey Jazz Festival and the marching band "Lynwood High School Royal Knights Regimental Brigade" they have won numerous of 1st place and sweepstake awards.Marching Band History
The LHS band during the Dr. Ronald Savitt era performed over 25 parades a year and performed no matter the weather if it was rain, heat, snow or wind in full uniform, therefore getting the name around the Los Angeles area as the hardcore marching band. In the past the Band has performed for: the
Los Angeles Raiders andRams games,pre game for theLos Angeles Dodgers parades in Las Vegas, the opening of the I-105/I-710 section of the freeway, Peter Pipers Pizza [Bell] , Superior Warehouse [Lynwood] and recently the opening of Firebaugh High School inLynwood, CA .Culture
