Muse grew up in
Baltimore, Maryland and earned his undergraduate degree fromMorgan State University in history. He went on to earn a Master of Divinity degree formWesley Theological Seminary and a Doctor of Ministry degree fromHoward University . Muse worked as a pastor at a number ofUnited Methodist churches before founding the Ark of Safety Christian Church inUpper Marlboro, Maryland .Political career
Muse was originally elected to the House of Delegates in 1994, representing District 26 in southern Prince George's County. During his time in the house, he served on the Ways and Means Committee and as chaplain of the Maryland Legislative Black Caucus. He only served one term in the House, not running for re-election in 1998, and lost an election for Prince George's County Executive in 2002. He was elected to an open seat in the State Senate in 2006. Muse currently sits on the Judicial Proceedings Committee.
