ascomycete fungus found in coniferous forests and known in North America and Europe. It produces a small, distinctive fruitbody with a flat, wavy or lobed cream to yellow coloured head raised on a white to cream stalk. The height is usually around 2-5 cm, and up to 8 cm. The fruitbodies may occur singly or in large groups and are infrequent. Its edibility is uncertain. Its texture is thin, firm and slightly rubbery. It has a pleasant taste, but no smell.The fungus fruits in summer and autumn and may be confused with the similarly-looking "Leotia lubrica".
