Swedish Game Development

Swedish Game Development AB (SGD) is an independent computer video game developer based in Malmö, Sweden. The company was founded in 2003 and operates mainly in the casual games industry. Games are released under the brand names Arcade Lab (for Microsoft Windows games) and Mac Joy (for Macintosh games). SGD also runs an online gaming site with more than 20 flash games as well as games for the Apple iPhone, called Donut Games.

The company is operated by brothers Ola and Daniel Zandelin. Ola is in charge of game design and graphics while Daniel handles programming and business operations.

SGD is known for Alice Greenfingers, a casual game that topped the sales charts during the summer of 2007[1].

Download Games

As most common in the casual gaming industry, SGD release their games as shareware where you can download and play the game for a limited amount of time, usually 30 or 60 minutes. After this time the game will lock itself and the player must purchase a license (full version) to continue playing. All games are available for both Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X computers. Some games have also been released for formats such as mobile and Pocket PC.

Online Games

In November 2006 SGD launched an online gaming site called Donut Games. It featured 16 launch games, and new games are added continuously.

iPhone

In April 2009 SGD began releasing games for the Apple iPhone. The games are released under the brand Donut Games, and include both old games converted to the iPhone as well as new games. These games include "Rat on the Run", "Traffic Rush", "Rat on a Scooter XL", "Paracute", "Castle Smashers", "Cave Bowling", "Rat on a Skateboard", "Urban Ninja", "Cat Physics", "Ruberth's Kick n' Fly", "Monkey Flight", "Sunday Lawn", "Action Buddy", "Superstar Chefs", "Gold Miner Joe", "Cows in Space", "Alice Greenfingers", "Jungle Crash Land", "Comet Racer", "Action Hero", "Titanic Rescue", "Spike's Bounce Around", "Icy Escort", "Bricks of Camelot", and "Lucky Coins." Most of these apps are $0.99. Sometimes they are free for a limited time. These games are simple yet fun at the same time.

On February 1, 2011, Cat Physics, Sunday Lawn, and Jungle Crash Land are free and available for download at the Apple App Store.

Cat Physics - Move arrows around to guide a ball through obstacles. Jungle Crash Land - Drop bombs to clear a path for a smooth landing.
