Neo-Terran Front

Admiral Aken H. Bosch

Eighteen months before Alpha 1 (the player) is enlisted into the GTVA, Admiral Bosch launches an attack on the GTVA in the Polaris system. In weeks time it affected the neighboring systems of Regulus and Sirius to follow his cause. The people of these three planets were known as "the Lost Generation" because of the neglect they received following the economic depression follwing the Great War. Bosch gave them a cause to support, fight, and die for.

The Plot

Bosch had gained access to the buried records of the Ancients records that were recovered on Altair durring The Great War and used these to locate and activate the Subspace Portal. Once he located the first Subspace Portal, he sent the NTC Trinity into the system to activate it and investigate the Nebula beyond Gamma Draconis. There, the Trinity discovers the Second Knossos device but is soon attacked and disabled by the Shivans in the nebula, and then later discovered by Alpha 1. Captain Romeg of the NTC Trinity is forced to surrender but swears his rights under BETAC when GTVA command asks why the Trinity is there.

Command learns that Admiral Bosch is constructing some sort of device labeled ETAK. However, they are clueless to what it is. The player is led to believe it is a weapon of mass destruction in the beginning phases of the campaign. Soon, the player is chosen for a special ops mission with SOC as an undercover NTF pilot. The player is ordered to scan Bosch's command ship, the Iceni, in an escort mission to the Regulus system in attempt to gain any information posible on the ETAK device.

Later on, the player is sent into the Nebula beyond Gamma Draconis to intercept a cargo transfer between the Iceni and an Azrael shivan class transport but is too late to intercept two of the three Azrael transports. Bosch escapes with the shivans and is never seen again.

Bosch's Agenda

Although Admiral Bosch's agenda was not entirely clear in the FreeSpace 2 campaign, most people come to the conclusion that he wanted an Alliance with the Shivans. However, he had much more planned then just an Alliance, he wanted to use the technology he discovered in the knossos created by the Ancients to restore the link to Earth.

Ships

The Neo-Terran Front primarily uses Great-War era fighters, including the Loki, the Hercules, Medusa and Zeus Bombers, and occasionally new GTVA fighters such as the Myrmidon and the Hercules Mark II. The NTF have an abundance of Fenris and Leviathan cruisers, and several Aeolus-class units. Also they are believed to own a few Deimos Corvettes, including the Belisarius. Along with Argo transports, Poseidon and Triton freighters, The NTF operate at least four Orion class destroyers, including the Cyrene, the Uhuru, the Vindicator, and the Repulse.

The NTD Repulse was destroyed by the GTVA Colossus, and the Uhuru and the Vindicator were destroyed in Bosch's attack on the Gamma Draconis Nebula. The Cyrene was destroyed by the Vasudans and the GVD Psamtik.

The Command Ship of the Neo-Terran Front is the Iceni. The Iceni is a frigate specifically designed by Admiral Bosch and it is quite dangerous to fighters and capital ships alike, including ones larger than it. It has a top speed of 35 meters per second, which beats out it's GTVA equivalent, the GTCv Deimos, which only can accelerate at 30 meters per second.

The Iceni was also covered by strange asteroid base, designated the NTF Boadicea. The Boadicea was destroyed by GTVA forces, and the Iceni simply flew out of the debris into subspace.

Most of the ships in the Neo-Terran Front were either seized directly by Bosch's forces or along with their crews/pilots defected from the GTVA.

Virtually the entire NTF Fleet was wiped out or captured in Admiral Aken Bosch's suicide attack to the Gamma Draconis system. Even though the Iceni and the GTC Alexandria made it, Bosch's move ended the NTF and the Civil War. The Alexandria, which was docked to an SOC transport, was presumably destroyed. The Iceni, after being abandoned by the Shivan transport containing Bosch, self-destructed in the Gamma Draconis Nebula.
