Simon Ghahary is a
loudspeaker designer from theUnited Kingdom , known for his unconventional speaker designs. In the summer of
1991 , he was working forR&D division ofBowers & Wilkins Speakers inSteyning . Ghahary found that round speaker enclosures would actually deliver better sound quality than the conventional rectangular enclosures common to most speaker designs. He would also incorporate unconvetional materials such asfiberglass into the construction. Ghahary started his own company,Blueroom Loudspeakers with another engineer,Laurence Dickie , which soon became a division of B&W. The company commercially released many of his Pod designs, including the Housepod, Technopod andMinipod loudspeakers. Ghahary's Housepod speaker won B&W their firstEISA award in 25 years. This also led to worldwide growth and recognition for the company. In
1994 Ghahary formed his ownrecord label ,Blue Room Released . It is considered one of the most important, and sometimes the most mysterious, label in thepsychedelic trance genre. The label was home to such popular artists asEtnica ,The Infinity Project ,Juno Reactor and Total Eclipse. As luck would have it, Blue Room also releasedX-Dream 's "Radio", the album often credited with changing the face of this music genre. In
1996 Blue Room became independent again. Ghahary left the company in1999 and started working on the sifi project. The sifi company was founded in2002 , specializing in product design and development. Sifi's products have been featured in magazines like GQ andSurface Magazine .Although best known as a speaker designer, Ghahary also worked as a
