W. A. Samuel Smith

Dr. Walter Alvah Samuel Smith, also known as Samuel Smith, was the second President of Athabasca University [http://www.athabascau.ca/convocation/documents/auhondoc.doc] , and in 1984 was awarded an honorary degree from that institution.

Dr. Smith prior to assuming his role as President, he was Dean of Arts at Simon Fraser University. [cite book
