Stephen Molumphy was born in Ballyduff Upper, County Waterford in 1984. He attended St Michael's primary school in Ballyduff and later attended St. Colman's College in Fermoy, County Cork. Here he enjoyed many hurling successes, winning one Dean Ryan Cup medal, two Harty Cup medals and two All-Ireland A Colleges' medals. Stephen is an officer in the Irish Defence Forces and holds the rank of Lieutenant. He has also served overseas in Germany.
Playing career
Club
Stephen plays at club level with Ballyduff Upper. At club level Stephen has won a Waterford Intermediate Hurling County Championship in 2005 and was captain of the team that won the 2007 Waterford Senior Hurling County Championship.
Inter-county
At inter-county level, Stephen plays with Waterford. Stephen made his championship debut versus Laois on
8 July 2006 . In his short inter county career, Stephen has won both a National Hurling League title and a Munster Championship and in 2007 was awarded an All-Star.Championship Appearances
