Governor Alfred E. Smith/Sunken Meadow State Park and Governor Alfred E. Smith/Sunken Meadow State Park Beach are located in the Town of Smithtown in
Suffolk County, New York in theUSA on the North Shore ofLong Island . The park's features include three miles ofbeach es on the Long Island Sound, aboardwalk three quarters of a mile long, 27 holes ofgolf with accompanying practice facilities, six miles ofhiking trails, and facilities forbiking ,horseback riding ,watersports , and general recreation. The park's grounds provide an excellent venue for cross-country running, and host competitions for many cross-country teams from localhigh school s and runners' clubs. The 5-kilometer course, featuring the aptly-named "Cardiac Hill", is regarded as one of the most difficult cross-country courses in the US.The park is accessible by the
