Van Tan Ngo

Van Tan Ngo is an internationally well known financial planner associated with Sun Life Financial in Montreal, Quebec, Canada since 1978. His Vietnamese name is Ngô Văn Tân and is also known as poet Tan Van. His biography was selected to publishe in Marquis Who's Who In The World, Who's Who in America and Who's Who in Finance and Business

Van Tan Ngo is also the publisher of http://vietnamville.ca, the most popular Vietnamese language website in Canada as he is also the initiator of the first Vietnam town in Canada located nearby metro Jean Talon with over 150 Vietnamese business concentration. Van Tan Ngo was the publisher of Vietnam-Canada Newspaper from 1982 to 1986 and the first Vietnamese oversea directory of Montreal since 1982. He was the founder-president of the social organization Vietnam-Canada Foundation.

Van Tan Ngo is always active in community and charity works. In the aftermath of the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake he started a campaign that raised over a million dollar worldwide to help South Asian victims, his poem Help Tsunami Victims was translated into other languages and published worldwide for this campaign. He sent 2 containers of seeds and medicine worth over a million dollars to help central Vietnamese in the 1991 heavy flood. He was also campaign organizer that sent over C$30,000 to help Vietnamese victims of the Chan Chu storm, Xangsane and Durian typhoons during 2006 and 2007.

During the 1991 relief campaign for Quang Nam Da Nang province in the aftermath of devastating typhoon and flood he recognized the need to help Danang out of poverty and underdevopment. He wrote to the QNDN government suggesting a plan for development and modernization of Danang city in Vietnam where he helped establish internnational co-operation for the University of Danang, suggested creation of a private university in the name of Duy Tan as memory to the Duy Tan renovation movement by Phan Chu Trinh. As result of this idea, Danang city turned herself into the most modern city and economic capital of Central Vietnam today. He is still helping other unfortunate people worldwide.
