In 1998 Tom was voted "Best Medium Market Program Director in America" by Radio Ink magazine. Tom has also been named the Program Director of the Year in past Electronic Media Awards. Melanie has been a staple of the Sunny 106.5 morning show since April 1993. She took a brief hiatus in from September 2000 before returning to the Sunny 106.5 morning team in April 2004. Melanie replaced Nicole who had been an integral part of the Sunny team since October 2000.

History

KSNE first signed on the air in 1987 as KRLV 106.5 FM. The call letters were changed from KRLV to KSNE in the mid 1990's.

Before Delilah, KSNE & KRLV ran its own locally produced weeknight show known as "Love Songs For Las Vegas" in the same time slot where the currently syndicated Delilah holds today. "Love Songs For Las Vegas" ran from the early 90's to mid 1990's.

It was also the home of Dick Clark's weekly syndicated "Countdown America" program which ran from the late 1980s until 1992.

KRLV 106.5 was known as Continuous Soft Rock in 1987 until 1995. KRLV played Hot AC until the changeover to call letters KSNE.

The new KSNE 106.5 FM became known as "Continuous Soft Favorites" or "Continuous Soft Hits". KSNE began to play more soft AC focusing on such artists as Kenny G, Michael Bolton, Amy Grant, etc.

This format continued until the mid 2000's when KSNE began to add more soft rock and current hits.

New competition such as KQMZ (now KKJJ) in the 2000s and changing demographics caused KSNE to play more current hits and less soft AC. They began playing more HOT AC along with current hits from such artists as Avril Lavigne, Sherl Crow, etc.

KSNE continuous to be the place for continuous lite favorites and is the top station in the Las Vegas area market.

The KRLV callsign was moved to AM 1340.
