It is about three Aboriginal Australians (Botj (Sean Mununggurr), Lorrpu (John Sebastian) and Milika (Nathan Daniels).) that trek through Australia's Northern Territory when Botj, shortly after returning from prison commits arson (unintentionally) and vandalism. The three flee from the police and head to Darwin by coast, soon after their arrival they are discovered by the police while sleeping in a hotel room, but Botj has left before the other two awoke, Botj has been breathing petrol fumes for their hallucinogenic effects, and commits suicide by jumping off a bridge, his body is discovered by Lorrpu and Milika later that day, Lorrpu and Milika return to their original home and return to their lives, the journey has been a rite of passage for Lorrpu, and his aboriginal tribe, the Yolngu have accepted him.
