New Zealand rock and roll band formed in2004 .History
The Holy Rollers are a
rock and roll band from Hamilton/Cambridge,New Zealand . In2002 , Jeremy Johnson (guitar), Greg Wallace (vocals/guitar), Ryan Print (bass), and Matt Waterhouse (drums) formed a band under the name Ashurst. Jeremy Suisted joined the band in2004 as a second guitarist and Greg Wallace focussed on vocals only. They entered and won the2004 HM Rage talent quest but all was not well. Sighting creative differences, Matt Waterhouse decided to leave the band in the fall of2004 and it was decided that Greg Wallace would move back onto drums and a new vocalist would be sought.
By the end of2004 Luke Goodwin had been decided upon as the new vocalist and by2005 the band had renamed themselves 'The Holy Rollers'. In August 2005 they recorded their first songs, "Bluesy Suzy", "Lady" and "Spoonasuga" and released them on a three track, self titled demo.2006 was a big year for the band as they played their first Parachute Music Festival inNew Zealand , said farewell to founding member Ryan Print, as he decided to reloate toNashville ,Tennessee in the United States of America, welcomed new bassist, Sam Hunt, and also opened the2006 In His Honour Festival.
