Karrantza in Basque or Carranza in Spanish is a town and
municipality located in the province ofBiscay , in the autonomous community of Basque Country, northernSpain . The official name is "Valle de Carranza".Karrantza is a lush green valley located in the westernmost part of the Basque Country. It is the municipality with the largest area in Biscay. The main river is the Carranza, which joins the Asón. Other minor rivers in the vally are the Seco, Callejo, de las Escaleras, Bernales, Cuadro and Presa. The municipality has nearly fifty "barrios"—villages and hamlets—spread throughout the valley, most important among them, Ambasaguas, with the largest population and the site of the Carranza train station, and Concha, the site of the municipal hall.Film director
