Belmont Hill School is an all-boys school located on a 23-acre campus in Belmont, a suburb of Boston, Massachusetts. It enrolls approximately 420 students in grades 7-12. The School refers to these grades as "Forms" with a Roman Numeral I through VI. The School has both day and five-day boarding programs. It was founded in 1923. Traditions

Every graduating student is required to create a relief carving, known as a panel, in order to graduate. The panel program has been in existence since 1927 and graduates' panels are hung throughout our campus. Athletics

Belmont Hill's athletics program offers [http://www.belmont-hill.org/podium/default.aspx?t=104307 16 interscholastic sports, 57 teams, over 700 athletic contests each year.] Boys in all grades, regardless of their athletic talents, learn the value of teamwork, the importance of sportsmanship, the rewards of giving any task their best effort. Almost all Belmont Hill coaches are members of the teaching faculty. Belmont Hill competes in the Independent School League. The varsity crew team was ranked first in the United States for high school crew in 2006 and 2007, and, as a result, competed in England at the Henley Regatta those summers. Additionally, the varsity football, track and wrestling teams won the New England championships for their respective sports, ranking them first in New England, in 2007. Belmont hill added an award-winning, state-of-the-art athletic center in 2000 and recently installed two new turf fields.

Arts

Belmont Hill offers both curricular and extra-curricular opportunities in visual arts, music and theater. This commitment to education beyond the bounds of the classroom extends to other programs as well. Belmont Hill's many publications, clubs and activities provide outlets for fun and learning, and an extensive community-service program allows students to experience the personal enrichment that comes from helping others. Groups change from year to year and there is always room for students of similar interest to expand the list of clubs and activities that make for a school life that goes beyond the books.

Enrollment

Belmont Hill's two largest matriculation years are the seventh and ninth grade (Form I and Form III). In the seventh grade they generally enroll a class of fifty to fifty-four boys, in the ninth grade eighteen to twenty, eight to ten openings in the eighth grade (Form II) and two to four openings in grades 10 and 11 (Forms IV and V).
