Mick Dalton was an Irish soccer player during the 1960s.
Affectionately known as "The Digger", Dalton was a defender who played for Bohemians, Dundalk, Sligo Rovers, Drumcondra and Athlone Town during his career in the League of Ireland.[1]
Dalton played alongside the likes of Billy Young and Willie Browne during his time at the then amateur Bohs. Mick represented Ireland at a tournament in Whitley Bay England in 1963 along with Ray Bushe, Joe McGrath, et al.
Dalton later managed Athlone Town, Workman's Club Dun Laoghaire, St Patrick's CY Ringsend, CYM Terenure, Railway Union and Dalkey United F.C.
He was appointed manager of Athlone in January 1970 as successor to Billy Young.[2] Resigned in April 1972.
