Grup Feroviar Roman

Grup Feroviar Roman (GFR) is a Romanian private company which has as a main object of activity the execution of railway goods transportation of connected railway transports services.
In a short time from the set up, GFR became an affiliate member of International Union of Railways (UIC), an OSJD member and associated member of Cooperation Organization of railways (OCCF). At the same time it started collaborations with other railway companies from Hungary, Bulgaria, Serbia and Ukraine.
Presently, GFR operates a park with over 2.300 wagons, of which 1.200 property and 100 engines, from which 75 engines are in their property.

Other

In July 2007 GFR offered a bid for Hungaryan company MAV Cargo of around US$300 million and thus qualified for the final price offering for the company, from third place just behind Slovak company Speed Trans Consortium and a Cyprus based fund.
Control of Bulgarian Railroad Company is shared by five Bulgarian companies and one Romanian company, Grup Feroviar Roman Bucharest.
The company also bought in 2006 the largest Serbian wagon construction and maintenance company, Zelvoz Smederevo.
