Yoko Devereaux

Yoko Devereaux is a fashion house and menswear brand directed by Andy Salzer. It is located in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Founded in 2000, Yoko Devereaux emerged as an art installation focused on the use of t-shirts as a form of visual communication between fashion, art, music and commerce. Taking its direct inspiration from the street wear scene in Williamsburg, the label has grown into a full menswear collection that is known for mixing New York's downtown casual style with classic tailoring techniques. Yoko Devereaux is available worldwide including the United States, Japan, Canada, Hong Kong, and Western Europe.

Yoko Devereaux has been seen on Pharell Williams, Josh Hartnett, Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Alan Cumming, the Scissor Sisters, The Brazilian Girls, The Rapture and other celebrities and musicians.

From the very start, Yoko Devereaux has been a favorite of the fashion media, receiving editorial credits in "GQ", "Details", "DNR", "Dazed and Confused, "Bon", "Paper".

Trivia

Yoko Devereaux is not a real person. The name and persona was created by Creative Director, Andy Salzer and close friend Ana Matronic (Scissor Sisters)

Artist Michael Bevilacqua featured the Yoko Devereaux logo, along with a variety of Yoko Devereaux graphics in a solo installation at Deitch Projects in New York

Yoko Devereaux styled friend and actor Alan Cumming for an entire season for his series 'Midnight Snack' on Sundance.

All male employees at both the Tribeca Grand and Soho Grand hotels in New York wear shirts specially designed for them by Yoko Devereaux.

Yoko Devereaux created the imagery and branding on the pant that Madonna wore for her Gap ad with Missy Elliott. Yoko Devereaux has dressed many VJ's on air for MTV. Yoko Devereaux has collaborated with a variety of artists, musicians and companies including Surface To Air, Ju$t Another Rich Kid and artist Michael Bevilacqua

Yoko Devereaux has created limited edition jean treatments for Levi's, one off sneakers for Adidas, one off sneakers for Converse, installation and promotional boots for Dr. Martens and a limited edition bag for the sales staff at Bumble & Bumble
