- Krupesh
Krupesh means one who is very gracious. This name is used in parts of
Karnataka andGujarat .In Gujarat, Krupesh is a name commonly given to those children in which the gender was thought to be known to be a female. This is why Krupesh carries a femininity sense. Krupa is the actual name given if the child turns out to be a female.
There is an old fable originating in Gujarat, India that reveals how and why the name Krupesh came into use.A woman was told that she could not bear children due to the "God's wishes." This made her very sad and she became determined to show the townspeople that God was not against her. She began saying many mantras and doing dharmic acts. Through these ritualistic acts, she was given a vardan, or boon, by the God Vyasji. Vyasji came and told the woman because of her religious acts, he would bear her a girl. The woman planned on calling her Krupa because this child was truly the work of God. However, when the baby's birth finally descended upon the woman, she saw that it was actually a boy. Because of this, she called the baby boy Krupesh, or God's blessings.
