Zibqin

Zibqin is a town in South Lebanon, convert|103|km|mi|0 from the capital, Beirut. It is convert|450|m|ft|1 above sea level. The town contains old Roman and Greek ruins. It contains the following families: Bzeih ,Sleibe, Barakat and Aatwi (عطوي). It is famous for tobacco and olives. It contains over 600 houses, and has a population of 3,000. The majority of the village was damaged in the 2006 Lebanon War. The name is of non-semitic origin. It stands for Zebu-Kine which means herd of cows. The origin of the name is unknown. There are signs of crusader presence in the ruins and the population
