The End of the World is an indie rock band from New York City. The band was formed in 2003 by Benjamin Smith and Stefan Marolachakis, who met while attending Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts.

Since its inception, the band has had a number of other members, most notably Robert Stillman, who played drums in the band for three years and is featured on both of its releases. Other members have included Adam Chelenski, Paul Jenkins, David Yourdon and Mike Incze.

In the spring of 2005 the band released a self-titled EP on Pretty Activity Records. This was followed by the release of their full-length "You're Making It Come Alive" - a split release between Chicago label Flameshovel Records and Pretty Activity Records in October 2006.
