Southwest LRT Trail

Southwest LRT Trail

The Southwest LRT Trail is a system of bicycle trails on the southwest side of Minneapolis, Minnesota. They are operated by the Three Rivers Park District.

The two rail corridors that the trail runs within were acquired for future light rail transit use as part of the Southwest Corridor project.

The Southwest LRT Trail actually consists of two separate trails running within roughly parallel abandoned rail corridors. The north trail runs about 15 miles from Hopkins to Victoria and has a crushed limestone surface. The south trail runs about 15.5 miles from the end of the Midtown Greenway to Chanhassen. The south trail is paved between its east end and Hopkins, and it has a crushed limestone surface west from Hopkins through Minnetonka, Eden Prairie, and Chanhassen.
