Skaterade

The Skaterade Beverage Company (Skaterade) was an independently owned beverage company specializing in innovative beverages for skateboarders and their pals in the action sports family. Founded by legendary skater Salman Agah and his attorney and former am skater Scott Weber, Skaterade offered a variety of products – including Skaterade Energy Drink – and other functional beverages. Its motto: “JOIN THE REVOLUTION.”

The beverage of choice for skaters and major athletes, Skaterade was more like Red Bull than Gatorade, and enjoyed national and international distribution with customers around the world.

It’s difficult to walk into a convenience store these days and not take notice of the increasing number of branded energy drinks lined up in the cooler. While all of these drinks promise an energy boost, vitamins, and other health benefits, not many can claim a direct affiliation with the skateboard culture--a lifestyle demographic used only as a marketing tool by many non-endemic brands. Born from a vision shared by skateboarders Salman Agah and Scott Weber that there should be a niche for a beverage company made by skaters for skaters, Skaterade was officially launched in March 2004.
