Scott Harding was drafted as a rookie by the Brisbane Lions in the 2005 AFL Draft from local Brisbane club Morningside.
He starred in the
2006 NAB cup . In the round 1 of the NAB cup against Essendon he accumulated 28 possessions in his first game. Harding made his AFL debut for theBrisbane Lions in Round 1, 2006 against Geelong. He became known as a hard nosed midfielder in theDaniel Kerr mould - capable of winning the ball at ground level and breaking the lines in pack situations. He is often compared toJason Akermanis due to his playing style and ability to set up many goals and racking up possessions.In 2007, after a promising start, he injured the
medial ligament of hisknee against theSydney Swans in round 20, which meant he would miss between 4-6 weeks.
