Canon Horace Baugh (1916 - 2007) was a
Quebec , CanadaAnglican priest who was famous for an annual blessing of the pets atopMount Royal inMontreal . Canon Baugh conducted his blessings each year for 56 years, continuing after he went blind, until his death at 91 years. He once estimated that he blessed over 60 000 pets over the years, including dogs, cats, horses, and snakes. Canon Baugh was instrumental in founding the skier'schapel ,St. Francis of the Birds inSt. Sauveur des Monts in theLaurentian hills.Sources
