Abdollah Shahbazi (born
1955 inShiraz ,Iran ) is an Iranianhistorian and founder of PSRI, the Political Studies and Research Institute.Background
Shahbazi graduated from the department of Social Sciences at Tehran university and became active in areas of political and historical research during the 1980s. He founded the Political Studies and Research Institute (PSRI) in 1988, and for a decade was in charge of research activities at the institute. In 1995, he reorganized the document center of Iran's "
Bonyad " into a professional historical institute.Shahbazi's father, Habibollah Khan Shahbazi, was the last Khan of Sorkhi tribes of Kuhmarre Sorkhi region in south of Shiraz, who led Iran's 1962-1963 tribal rebellion against the
Pahlavi dynasty .Publications
Shahbazi has published many books and articles, including "Rise and Fall of the Pahlavi dynasty." The two-volume set contained the controversial memoirs of General Hossein Fardoost, the head of Mohammad Reza Shah's
secret service . He was also responsible for editing the memoirs of theCommunist Party of Iran (Tudeh Party) leader, Nouraddin Kianouri.External links
