Jeremy D. Kapinos (born August 23,1984, in West Point, New York) is an American football punter that is a free agent of the National Football League. He was originally signed by the Jets as an undrafted free agent in 2007. He played college football at Penn State.

Early years

Kapinos was named All-Met at West Springfield High School, in Springfield, Virginia, where his coach was former Green Bay Packers punter Bill Renner.

College career

Kapinos was a Ray Guy Award finalist and a third-team All-America selection by the Associated Press while playing college football at Penn State University. He is the Nittany Lions' all-time leader in punting yardage [ [http://pennstate.scout.com/2/583189.html Scout.com: Kapinos' Military Precision ] ] .

Professional career

He signed as a free agent with the New York Jets following the 2007 NFL draft but was released during the preseason. Later that season the Baltimore Ravens employed the left-footed Kapinos to help prepare for left-footed punter Donnie Jones prior to their week 6 game versus the St. Louis Rams [ [http://www.carrollcountytimes.com/articles/2007/10/12/sports/esports101207.txt Carroll County Times: Westminster, Maryland ] ] .

On November 27, Kapinos was re-signed to the Jets' practice squad. He was promoted to the active roster on December 22 when wide receiver Laveranues Coles was placed on injured reserve. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Recreation, Park and Tourism Management from Penn State in 2006.
