Beginnings
The company was founded by Bobby Williams when his father re-mortgaged his farm and bought him a gas station right across the street from his brother Paul's. After a number of years he sold this station and bought three more. In 1975 he purchased a
Standard Oil station inBloomington, Minnesota . Here he met Steve Anderson who became a partner at the Bloomington store.Between 1975-1989 Bobby expanded company to 12 outlets but decided to cut back his business to four stations after a near death car crash.
The first "Auto World" opened in October 1996 in Bloomington which replaced the original the Shell station he owned. This format was replicated the next year at their Washington Ave outlet which was a former
Texaco station. All Bobby and Steve's Auto World outlets operate asMobil stations.Expansion and Development
