Gary K. Beauchamp, PhD. is a geneticist and biologist who currently heads Monell Chemical Senses Center in Philadelphia.

In the 1970s, Dr. Beauchamp conducted a taste test experiment with cats in the order Panthera. This test showed that big cats held no preference to sugars, and thus had an obsolete and non-functioning sweet taste receptor.

In 1990, Dr. Beauchamp took over the as director of Monell after the death of Dr. Morley Kare.
