Buenzli

The Buenzli is an annual Swiss demoparty, which takes place in Winterthur, Switzerland.

Rising numbers of visitors required a new location occasionally. Already for the third time it took place in the "Kirchgemeindehaus" of the city Winterthur. This event clearly differs from other computer parties, according to named LAN parties, however.

On the Buenzli party the individual ability and knowledge of each participants stands in the center. Playing - which constitutes the majority of other parties - is practised only at the edge, because the meeting addresses itself to members of the demoscene. Many of the participants are programmers, commercial artists, musicians or multimedia designers and which are able to prove their artistic productions. These productions cover graphics, animations, demos and music compositions, which are done by the participants themselves and partially are provided life on the party. In different competitions these productions participate against each other. For the best ones in all categories prices (money & real values) will be given. Technically seen the Buenzli party is relatively well equipped. On a large screen, which is operated by a video beamer, non-stop demo productions are shown and the competitions are accomplished. Additionally different appearances of DJ sets take place, which are accompanied in each case by high-quality visuals.

In order to organize the Buenzli party, an association was established. This association is called Buenzli - association for the promotion of recent medium and computer art and has itself, together with the annual event to promote new media and computer art broadly in Switzerland.

Buenzli 16 "The Sky Is The Limit" took place on the August 17/18/19 2007. It was the first Buenzli event that was organized by "Echtzeit - Digitale Kultur", a Swiss association aiming to establish and support the demoscene in Switzerland.
