Waconia, Minnesota , in1967 , Jeff Walz grew up inSeward, Nebraska , and moved a number of times thereafter. He spent time inEdwardsville, Illinois ;Edmonton, Alberta, Canada ;Valparaiso, Indiana ;Lincoln, Nebraska ;Wheaton, Illinois ; andCedarburg, Wisconsin . Walz now lives inCedar Grove, Wisconsin , with his wife of 14 years, Jennifer, and one child, Matthew, 4-years-old.Education
Walz attended high school in Edmonton and earned his bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Print Journalism from
Valparaiso University in1989 . He spent the next two years as a journalist for theVidette-Messenger in Valparaiso, covering politics and transportation issues. He then attended graduate school at theUniversity of Nebraska, Lincoln , earning hisPh.D. in Political Science in1996 .Career
