The radio station is considered a Class BAM broadcast station by theFederal Communications Commission . WGFS has applied to theFederal Communications Commission to change its operating frequency from 1430 kHz to 1220 kHz. The application also calls for a decrease in its daytime power to 1,600Watt s, and increase its nighttime power to 500Watt s. The daytime and nighttime signal patterns will change to two different directional antenna patterns. This change will allow sister stationWATB (AM) located inDecatur, Georgia to move from its present 1420 kHz operating frequency to 1430 kHz vacated by WGFS. The move ofWATB (AM) to 1430 kHz will allow it to substantially increase its daytime power to 50,000Watt s.External links
