The collection spans the period 1833 - 1903 and includes correspondence and contemporary newspaper clippings about the burning of the convent and it's attached boarding school, as well as an eyewitness account, a photograph of an engraving of the convent in 1832, and a sketch showing the ruins after the fire. The collection also provides an illustration of resentment towards, and prejudice against, Catholics in 1800s New England. [cite web
