Vellamunda is a village and head of vellamunda panchayath in Wayanad district in the Indian state of Kerala. It is surrounded by hills and paddy fields.Famous tourist attraction is Banasura sagar earth dam,which is the largest of its kind in India.Water from Banasura Sagar Dam is pumped in to kakkayam reservoir of kuttiady power project
