José Clayton Menezes Ribeiro (born
March 21 ,1974 inSão Luís ,Brazil ) is a Brazilian-Tunisia n football left-back, who – as of 2004 – was playing forSakaryaspor . He left Tunisian side Esperance De Tunis to join Qatari based sideAl Sadd . He won the Q-League title in 2006. In 2006 he leftAl Sadd for Turkish clubSakaryaspor . He is a wing-back typified by his effective overlapping runs, mazy dribbling and pin-point crosses. He has 38 caps (2 goals) for TunisiaHe also played for
Espérance Sportive de Tunis . Although Clayton was born in Brazil, he spent a large part of his club career in Tunisia, and became a naturalized citizen in time for the 1998 World Cup. He played for Tunisia in that tournament, as well as the one in 2002.He was an over-age player on the Tunisian 2004 Olympic football team that exited in the first round, finishing third in Group C, behind group and gold medal winners Argentina and runners-up Australia.
