"Cellana flava" is a species of true limpet, a marine gastropod mollusc in the family Nacellidae, one of the families of true limpets.

Distribution

This species is endemic to New Zealand. It is found on the east coast between East Cape and Dunedin, on intertidal rocks.

hell description

The shell is large, solid, tall-conical, with rather distant, low, rounded, radial ribs, the surface otherwise smooth.

The shell is whitish to bright orange, both externally and internally.

The maximum shell length is 66 mm, width 54 mm, and height 29 mm.
