Cein McGillicuddy

Céin Pierce McGillicuddy (born April 28th, 1983) is a British comedy writer and film maker, best known for his award-winning 15 second short film [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gGnvGnC5Bj4 'The Tour of the House'] .Fact|date=July 2007

Biography

Céin was born and raised in Stourbridge, West Midlands to an English Mother and an Irish Father. He makes mostly comical, character based films that have a recurring theme of comedy and tragedy and the close relationship between them.

First becoming interested in film making as a boy, he made home 'B-movies' with his younger brother Tadhg McGillicuddy. These included 'Gator' and 'Gator II: He's Back', courtesy of an inflatable Alligator lilo.

He went on to take a BTEC National Diploma in Media Production at Kidderminster College, where he discovered a passion for scriptwriting. As a result, he later managed to gain a place on the BA (hons) Scriptwriting for Film & Television degree at Bournemouth University's Media School and graduated in 2005. He decided to stay one more year and take an MA in Television Production.

Having completed the Masters in September 2006, he has relocated to London and begun working in television as a researcher while developing his own projects. One of which, 'The Tour of the House', went on to win Nokia Shorts 2006 at The 14th Raindance Film Festival, alongside his collaborator and friend, Andy Kinnear. As a result, they were sent to the 2007 Cannes Film Festival courtesy of Raindance where they were privileged to make the acquaintance of visionary film maker and musician Ross Newell.

Andy & Céin are now writing together, along with a third co-writer, Dan McGaughey. The three of them met whilst studying at Bournemouth University.
