- Burtoni Award
The Burtoni award is named after Canadian professor Ian Burton, a pioneer in the science of adaptation to climate change and a lead author of the
Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change reports.It is awarded in recognition of outstanding contributions to climate change adaptation science and policy.

* 2005: Roger Jones is a Principal Research Scientist in the Climate Change Impacts and Risk Stream ofCSIRO (Australia), specialised in Marine and Atmospheric Research. It was awarded in recognition of his innovations in research methods for assessing adaptation to climate change. Dr Jones has developed techniques for managing climate change risks at the local level which are now being widely used in Australia and overseas. He has been involved in a variety of national and international assessments concerning water, agriculture, biodiversity, economics, adaptation to climate change and the benefits of climate policy. * 2007: DrSaleemul Huq is the head of the climate change group ofInternational Institute for Environment and Development , UK.
