"Bleed American" is the fourth album by Jimmy Eat World. It was released on July 18, 2001, and became self-titled ("Jimmy Eat World") following the September 11 attacks, before reverting to its original name for a deluxe edition in 2008. The album was produced by Mark Trombino, who previously produced Blink-182's first major-label album, "Dude Ranch". The album artwork is taken from William Eggleston's photograph "Memphis."

On April 29, 2008, a deluxe edition of the album was released with a bonus disc containing several b-sides, acoustic versions, live versions, demo versions and previously unreleased tracks. The album is certified Platinum by the RIAA, having sold more than 1 million copies in the U.S.It is also certified Platinum by the CRIA [ [http://www.cria.ca/gold/0203_g.php Canadian Recording Industry Association (CRIA): Gold & Platinum - February 2003 ] ] and Silver by the BPI.
