Mount Vernon Senior High School is a public high school in Mount Vernon, Indiana. The current campus was completed in 1960 and was added on to in the 1980s. It serves high school students from 4 townships (Black, Lynn, Marrs & Point) in the southern half of Posey County.

In 2006-2007 enrollment was 834 students. In 2006 Mount Vernon graduated 87.1% of seniors.
Athletics
Teams
Mount Vernon's athletic teams are nicknamed the Wildcats and the school's colors are Maroon and Gray. The Wildcats compete in the Big Eight Conference (Indiana) in the following sports: baseball, boys and girls basketball, cross country, football, golf, boys and girls soccer, softball, boys and girls swimming, boys and girls tennis, track and field, volleyball, and wrestling.
Marching Band
Mt. Vernon's marching band has been a growing success in Indiana. Producing very successful individuals, such as Adam Rice and Michael Alsop, the program has taught discipline and passion. The Class of 2009 takes great pride in being a successfully competitive marching band. The Marching Wildcats made it to state finals in 2006 with a show entitled "A Quest for Extremes."
Sectionals 07-08:Football, 1st since 1999, and Girls Tennis
