Fixed expression

Fixed expression

A fixed expression in English are standard forms of expression that have taken on a more specific meaning than the expression itself. They are different from proverbs in that they are used as a part of a sentence, and are the standard way of expressing a concept or idea.

Examples include:
* "come into mind"
* "fall in line"
* "I can assure you"
* "surf the web"
