Oxford Female Institute was a registered historic building in Oxford, Ohio, listed in the National Register on 1976-04-26. The Oxford Female Institute was founded John Witherspoon Scott, father of first lady Caroline Harrison. When John Scott moved his school from Cincinnati to Oxford, to assume, he brought along his daughter as a student. Her boyfiend, Benjamin Harrison, transferred from Cary's Academy in Cincinnati to Miami University to be near Carrie.

The building, demolished in the late 1970s was later known as Fisher Hall when used by Miami University as a dormitory and for other purposes. Miami's Marcum Conference Center now sits on the former location of this building. As young professors, Walter Havighurst and Joseph M. Bachelor lived in this building as advisors. One of Miami's long-unsolved mysteries centers on Fisher Hall resident Ron Tammen, who disappeared from his dorm room in the 1950s and was never heard from again. After the building was demolished, artist John Ruthven painted the building as background for study of cardinals which was made into a limited edition print and sold to raise scholarship funds for Miami University.
