Bernadette Bascom

"Bernadette Bascom" (born 1962 in Baltimore, Maryland ) is a R&B singer.

Bascom, the daughter of Civil Rights Activist Rev. Marion Bascom, began her career as a Disc Jockey in Baltimore. Later her career included signing with Philadelphia International Records. Bascom was the first artist signed to Stevie Wonder's label Black Bull. She later forged a great recording career in the Pacific Northwest. She was also one of the Motown Moments at the Motown Cafe. Bascom recorded for her own labels Penguin and Solidarity Records which was distributed by D-Town Records. Her standout performance of "Seattle Sunshine" still is her trademark song and with she has worked with Elton John, Lenny Williams and others.

In 2004 Bascom returned to Seattle where she currently teaches vocal lessons, performance and production.
