Ángel “Pichi” Alonso. (born 14 May, 1955 in Benicarló (Castellón, Valencian Community) is a Spanish football player and coach. He made his debut in Segunda División, for CD Castellón, in the 1975-76 season. On 1978 he signed for Real Zaragoza, where he played for four years, before being transferred to Barcelona FC for another four. Alonso scored three goals against IFK Göteborg in the 1986 Champions League semifinal, allowing Barcelona to reach the final against Steaua Bucuresti in Seville, where he didn’t play and Barcelona lost. In Zaragoza, his best scoring record was in an 8-1 victory against RCD Espanyol, when he scored five goals (1978-79). In late 80’s he played for Espanyol and lost the UEFA cup 1988 final against Bayer Leverkusen. He made his debut on Spanish national football team on 21-12-1978, against Italy (1-0), in Rome. As coach, he was manager of the Catalonia national football team for several years.
