14 May ,1955 inBenicarló (Castellón ,Valencian Community ) is a Spanish football player and coach. He made his debut inSegunda División , forCD Castellón , in the 1975-76 season. On 1978 he signed forReal Zaragoza , where he played for four years, before being transferred toBarcelona FC for another four. Alonso scored three goals againstIFK Göteborg in the 1986Champions League semifinal, allowing Barcelona to reach the final againstSteaua Bucuresti inSeville , where he didn’t play and Barcelona lost. In Zaragoza, his best scoring record was in an 8-1 victory againstRCD Espanyol , when he scored five goals (1978-79). In late 80’s he played for Espanyol and lost theUEFA cup 1988 final againstBayer Leverkusen . He made his debut onSpanish national football team on 21-12-1978, against Italy (1-0), inRome . As coach, he was manager of theCatalonia national football team for several years.External links
