price = £999/AU$3800/2000USD(50cc)/2500USD(125cc)The Madass is amotor scooter made by German automotive companySachs Motorcycles from 2000, currently being produced in 2008 - they have released a new model for 2008, same specifications as previous models but have added a model in the colour white, to complement the current line up of yellow, silver and matte black. The bike features a unique naked design which incorporates the fuel tank into the frame and has no plastics or fairings. It has a stainless steel under-seat muffler, a 4-speed manual gearbox or automatic transmission and dual disc brakes (both hydraulic). The front headlights are positioned vertically, which is not conventional for mopeds. It comes in 50 cc and 125 cc models, in matte black, silver, yellow (and white in 2008, with the yellow model only available as a 125 cc). The recommended retail price (RRP) for the Madass is £999 or $3800 in Australia including registration and taxes.
By default, the 49 cc model is limited to convert|32|mph|km/h|abbr=on in order to abide with laws regarding mopeds and their power limits. This limitation can be solved by removing a small black plug adjacent to the battery in the rear of the motorcycle, which pushed the top speed to approximately convert|38|mph|km/h|abbr=on. The performance is also restricted in the muffler, carburetor and the throttle, as well as a CDI unit which limits revs to 7,500 RPM.
The 50cc model is fairly easily upgradeable to 70CC, 90CC, 125CC or larger motors made by LIFAN.
