- Macready Baronets
The Macready Baronetcy, of Cheltenham in the County of Gloucester, is a title in the
Baronetage of the United Kingdom . It was created on1 March 1923 for GeneralNevil Macready . He wasCommissioner of the Metropolitan Police from 1918 to 1920 andCommander-in-Chief of Ireland from 1920 to 1922. He was succeeded by his son, the second Baronet. He was aLieutenant-General in the Army and held several administrative posts in occupied Germany after theSecond World War .
