Mankurussi or Mankurissi is a small town near Palakkad in the state of Kerala in southern India. It is in the mid-way between Palakkad and Ottapalam, located 17 KM from Palakkad town in the Palakkad-Ponnani State Highway. It is a very green and picturesque village located on the banks of river Bharathapuzha (Nila). Mankurussi finds place even in some very old books and the word 'Mankurussi' means 'The Birth place of Great men' (as quoted by a famous saint).

Mankurussi is a developing town and Mankurussi junction connects the place called Kallur to the rest of the world. The Mankurussi junction has small shopping complexes with a post office, two medical shops, one auditorium, some small hotels and many stationary and grocery shops. The rice mill located very near to the junction is a very old establishment in Mankurussi. Mankurussi also has a Primary School located on the way to Kallur. Also many taxis and auto rickshaws are available in the junction since the availability of buses to Kallur are limited.

The most important feature that one notices in Mankurussi is its lush and green paddy fields. To accompany the greenery, there are also some good coconut groves that cools your eyes. Agriculture still remains the primary mode of income for many families.

Mankurussi Bhagavthi temple is a very famous temple located there. It has Bhagavathy, Lord Shiva, Lord Ayyappa and Lord Ganapathi as the main idols of worship. It also has a Devaswom building with a hall and many rooms as part of the committee offices and also there is a big pool behind the temple which faces the vast paddy fields. The 'Karthika Vilakku Mahotsavam' festival is the most famous festival there. Also 'Ashtabandha Kalasam', 'Shiva raathri' and 'Aana oottu' are celebrated. The 'annadanam' conducted for 10 days every year is very famous and people from various places come and have Bhagavathi's 'prasadam'.
