Anderson, SC . It is one of two high schools inAnderson School District 5 . With a population of nearly 1,800 students, Hanna has a reputation of strong athletics and academics. In 1999, the school was named "Palmetto's Finest" by theSouth Carolina Department of Education. In 2000, Hanna was named a National Blue Ribbon School by theU.S. Department of Education . The school mascot is the yellow jacket.History
Before T.L. Hanna High there were Boy's High (located at what is now the
Hanna-Westside Extension Campus ) and Girl's High (located at what is now theAnderson County Museum ). L. Hanna High School - *History ] ] . In 1961 Hanna High moved to a new site on Marchbanks Avenue, the current site ofMcCants Middle School , and became co-ed in 1962. In 1992 the school moved to its current location on Highway 81. A recent addition to the campus completed in 2007 is the Freshmen Academy, an extension to the building that has classrooms specifically for Hanna's Freshmen students.Notable Alumni

T.L. Hanna High is the home of Radio, made famous by the film of the same name. The events of the movie take place when the school was at the Marchbanks campus, though the movie was filmed at a different location.
MTV came to T.L. Hanna in September 2007 to cast for "Made ", a reality-show featuring the makeovers of high school students.
