Soulumination

Soulumination is a non-profit organization in Seattle that takes professional portraits of children and adults facing life threatening illnesses including Tay Sachs, spina bifida, Leigh syndrome, hydrocephalus, leukemia, and brain cancer. The organization was founded by Lynette Johnson, a family and wedding photographer.

Guiding Principles

Through photography, Soulumination assists grieving families. Additionally, their photos attach faces to diseases with the objective of raising awareness and funding for medical research.

Press Coverage

Lynette Johnson was interviewed about Soulumination on the Today Show, featured in the Alaska Airlines July 2007 magazine, and publicized on Seattle news stations KOMO-TV, KIRO-TV, and KING-TV. "Portraits of Hope", a documentary about Soulumination, was awarded best film and best director in the 2007 International Documentary Challenge and was featured in the Seattle Film Festival in 2007.
